Eternal Spirit, we bring you our grief in the loss of (pet name) and ask for courage to bear it.

We bring you our thanks for (pet name), who lived among us and gave us freely his/her love.

We commit our friend and companion (pet name) into your loving hands.

Give us eyes to see how your love embraces all creatures and every living thing speaks to us of your love. Amen.

Prayer In Memory of your Pet

I was fortunate to receive the gift of (pet name), Now that he (she) has left this life, please help me cope with my loss and to show strength and courage.

I know that my beloved companion no longer suffers, and will live on forever in many fond memories.

May they be treated with the care and respect deserved As he (she) has enriched my life, I hope that I may help enrich the lives of others in his (her) memory.

Those we love remain with us
for love itself lives on,
and cherished memories never fade because a loved one's gone…

Those we love can never be more than a thought apart,
for as long as there is memory, they'll live on in the heart.

With my pal gone, my side is bare
Just looking down he is not there.
A heavy heart, a saddened soul
A weight of passage, tears untold.

Now all alone I feel the space
Where oft my friend would lick my face.
